CAPTAINS (C172 AND PA-28-140)

Star Marianas Air, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants to fill open positions flying Discovery Flights with tourists visiting the islands of Saipan and Tinian, located in the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. This entry level position provides an excellent chance to build flight time (average 60+ hours per month) and advancement opportunities to upgrade to a Part 135 Commuter Airline captain*. Annual compensation package starts at $21k and is not based on flight hours. Candidates must be highly motivated, organized, team oriented, and willing to relocate.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • U.S. FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with single engine and instrument ratings

  • Be eligible to live and work in the United States

  • Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI) written test completion required; CFI rating preferred;

  • 100 hrs. cross country, 25 of which are at night (point to point)

  • Due to weight restrictions of aircraft, Pilots weight should not exceed 220 lbs. 

  • College graduates preferred

 * In order to qualify as PIC under 14 CFR Part 135 a pilot must meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 135.243(b) as follows:

  • Total cross country time of 100 hours, 25 of which are at night

CAPTAINS (PA-31-350) – Immediate Openings Available

Star Marianas Air, Inc. is seeking experienced captains to fly Piper PA-31-350 Chieftains between the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam.  The position allows for residence on either Saipan or Tinian and requires approximately 60 hours of flight time per month.  Qualified candidates must hold a US FAA ATP rating, have 100 hours of night time, hold a First Class Medical, and be under 65 years old. Annual compensation of $60K* and relocation assistance available.

Summary of Duties: Provide customers with assistance in air transportation and other services offered by the company.


Specific Tasks:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by working in close coordination with the company’s flight operations and aircraft maintenance departments to facilitate timely transportation of customers.

  • Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products and services, to enter or cancel bookings, or to obtain details of complaints.

  • Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation.

  • Contact customers to respond to inquiries or to notify them of any planned adjustments.

  • Confer with the accounting department to determine charges for services requested, accurately process sales, collect payments or arrange for billing whichever is applicable.

  • Accomplish safe and secure handling of company documents, air waybills, cash and other documents required by the company.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.


Job Qualification Requirements:

  • High School/GED Diploma required.

  • Computer literate, must also be familiar with Microsoft office applications such as Excel.

  • Physically able to lift items of at least 50 lbs.

  • Experience working for a U.S. air carrier as defined in Title 14 Part 119 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations required.

  • Minimum one (1) year work experience as a Customer Service Specialist.

Summary of Duties: Responsible for the efficient and economical performance of all assigned duties with regards to purchase, handling and storage of aircraft parts and materials, and the associated paperwork.


Specific Tasks:

  • Assure the proper identification of parts, materials and supplies during issue.

  • Assure the correct identification of incoming parts, materials and supplies.

  • Provide the correct storage of parts, materials and supplies including the proper segregation and identification of all parts in the storage room.

  • Maintains all stock in accordance with required procedures, including shelf-life items.

  • Collect and maintain on file the Maintenance Releases accompanying incoming parts on which work was performed by an outside appropriately rated repair station.

  • Maintain the storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.

  • Coordinate with the Chief Inspector for the proper control of incoming parts, materials and supplies, and request receiving inspections to be performed.

  • Maintain all equipment/parts in the stockroom in a clean, orderly manner and replaces/repairs some to a safe and accurate operating condition.

  • Correctly package all units, components, and/or materials to be sent to vendors or repair agencies for overhaul, repair, or certification.

  • Responsible for the shipment of components and materials as directed by the Director of Maintenance.

  • Determining that all spares/components have been examined by a properly authorized person prior to final acceptance into storage and/or installation on aircraft and report any discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance and/or the Chief Inspector.

  • Coordinating his/her activities with all other related or affected departments as required.

  • Be responsible for maintaining the calibration of precision tools and equipment.

  • Maintains a tool calibration list, oversees tool issuance and accountability, and assures that tools are maintained in a safe and secure order to ensure service ability.

  • Be responsible for providing spares and materials for aircraft and equipment maintenance.

  • Provide tracking of parts and equipment while in transits to an AOG aircraft.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.


Job Qualification Requirements:

  • High School/GED Diploma required.

  • Computer literate. Must be proficient in windows applications, and Microsoft office programs.

  • Experience working for a U.S. Air carrier as defined under title 14 part 119 of the U.S. code of federal regulations required.

  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience required.
